Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men.
Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in a man's prostate (a small walnut-shaped gland that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperm).
Prostate cancer usually grows slowly and initially stays limited to the prostate gland, where it may not cause serious harm. While a few types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal or no treatment, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly.

Some prostate cancers can grow and spread quickly, but most grow slowly. If Prostate cancer is detected early when it's limited to the prostate gland it has a better possibility of successful treatment.

✓  difficulty in starting to urinate or pee (hesitancy)

✓  Weakness or numbness in the legs or feet, or even loss of bladder or bowel control from cancer pressing on the spinal cord.

✓  Passing urine more often than usual, especially at night

Age is the most most important risk factor for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is rare among men under the age of 45. But, Prostate cancer is more common in people above aged 50. About 6 in 10 cases of prostate cancer are found in men over the age of 65.

This difference seems to be due to a mixture of inherited genes and environmental factors. When men move from a country where the prostate cancer risk is low to one where it is higher their risk increases.

Prostate cancer is most common in North America, northwestern Europe, Australia, and on Caribbean islands. It is less common in Asia, Africa, Central America, and South America.

Although, the reasons for this are not clear. Factors such as lifestyle differences, diet, etc. may be a reason.
