Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Age

As many as three million Americans may have Type 1 Diabetes. Diabetes currently affects more than 371 million people worldwide and is expected to affect 552 million by 2030.

Type 1 diabetes usually occurs during childhood or adolescence. Type 2 diabetes, which is the most common form of the disease, usually occurs in people who are 45 years of age or older. However, the rate of diagnosis of type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents is increasing. Type 2 diabetes is a lifelong disease that happens when the cells of the body can't use insulin the right way or when the pancreas can't make enough insulin.

Eat carbohydrates rich fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes (beans, peas and lentils) and low-fat dairy products.

b) Fiber
Foods high in fiber include vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes (beans, peas and lentils), whole-wheat flour and wheat bran.

c) 'Good' fats

How to check Blood Sugar level

Here are some steps to check Blood Sugar Level:

Step 1: After washing your hands, insert a test strip into your meter.

Step 2: Use your lancing device on the side of your fingertip to get a drop of blood.

Step 3: Touch and hold the edge of the test strip to the drop of blood, and wait for the result.

Step 4: Your blood glucose level will appear on the meter's display.

Step 5: You can write down the results and the time that you tested your blood. But most meters will store results for many days or weeks, so you can always go back later and retrieve them.

Note: All meters are slightly different, so always refer to your user's manual for specific instructions.
